Podgypanda is Richard Kuoch, a Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Animator based in Auckland, New Zealand. He creates characters, illustrations, paintings, munnys, merchandise and a whole lot more of custom items that show his “fun and unique take on life through art”.
I was fortunate enough to meet Richard at this years Armageddon Expo in Christchurch. He is a determined businessman who has been finding success here and internationally in recent years. He has had a lot of his work on display at several shows at the Black Maria Gallery in Los Angeles and was recently there for the "We Heart Wood" custom Jibibut show at Munky King Melrose. On display was his custom jibibut set, entitled “The PodgyPanda Circus” entirely hand painted.
I am hugely inspired by Richard and his work. He has come along way in the past 5 years and I enjoy following him on his blog. His style, although similar to artists such as TADO, is unique in its own way. PodgyPanda has a strong future ahead.
